I am pleased to take this opportunity to meet you and welcome your child to my class. A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher. My expectations for conduct and standards for academic growth are high. With your participation in and out of the classroom we can look forward to a productive, creative, and fun year together! In the past I have had many parents volunteer their time in the classroom. I encourage this because it provides opportunity for more children to receive one-on-one attention. If you are interested in volunteering please let me know. This can be on a weekly, bi-weekly, or occasional basis. The more specialized help students receive in class, the more they will learn. I am excited about this new year. I hope we can work together to make it one of growth, discovery, and significance for your child. You can help by giving me any information that will help me understand your child better. Some things I am interested in include the following: Important experiences that may be affecting your child (death in the family, a best friend moving away, etc.) ¨ Special medical needs ¨ After-school activities and special interests¨TV habits ¨ Feelings toward school I’m interested in anything that could be affecting your child, although it is not necessary for you to reveal personal information. Anything you say will be kept in confidence. Again, welcome and thank you for sharing your child with me! Please feel free to contact me about your concerns. Our school phone number is (770) 513-6892. Please leave a message and I will return your call at my earliest convenience.
